Kindergarten students of Everwin
Matriculation Higher Secondary School, 250 out of a total Kg strength of 770, on 22.08.2008 gave a visual treat as they dressed up in 108 'avatars'
(forms) portraying 250 names of Lord Krishna in an event to mark the
coming Gokulasthami. The event was well covered by the media.
The little kids, all below five years, were dressed up for the
occasion as only this age group was considered appropriate to
portray Lord Krishna in all his beauty and divinity, Everwin
Matriculation Higher Secondary School Correspondent and Principal
B Purshotaman said.
The school purchased costumes worth Rs 1.50 lakh recreating
Brindavan and Dwaraka depicting various phases of Lord Krishna's
life. The scenes were authentic and the children at their best.
The two combined to give an effective portrayal of the divine
episodes.
The entire premises wore a festive look. With colourful costumes,
buntings, exquisite sets, it looked like a time machine transporting
one to the age of Lord Krishna.
Titled 'Kids as Krishna Mega Contest 2008,' the occasion provided
an opportunity for the little ones to showcase their skills as Lord
Krishna's life is dotted with various incidents during his childhood.
The rewards were there, of course. The boys and girls took home
prizes in Best Costume and 'Best Appropriation' Categories.
